Club Overview
Maranui Surf Life Saving Club is situated on Wellington's south coast beach of Lyall Bay. Established in 1911, the building itself is listed on the Historic Buildings Trust. It was recently gutted by a fire in August 2009 and is currently undergoing a restoration.
The Surf Club continues to patrol the beach at Oriental Parade and is still running its very successful Nippers (Junior Surf) programme as well as training new lifeguards and competing at National level in a variety of Surf Sports.
