Club Overview
Trust Waikato Whiritoa Lifeguard Service, between Waihi and Whangamata on the Coromandel was formed in 1974. The Clubhouse sits prominently near the middle of the 1.6 km beach. We are a community and family based Club.
A pool of 35 plus lifeguards undertakes volunteer weekend patrols from the first Saturday in December to Easter.
We have a very successful Junior programme covering Nippers, Cadets, Trainees and Rookies. Dedicated Coaches are appointed to each of these groups who train together weekdays from Christmas to mid January. A number of carnivals are participated in each year.
Members can join in the social events and relax after a hot day at the claimed “Bar with the best view in the World”. The Whiritoa Summer programme is largely based around the Club, and offers a wide range of events for the Whiritoa Community.
We would love to have you as a member – please follow the links on this page – looking forward to meeting you.
